Per Meduza, Russian opposition politician Boris Nadezhdin has left for France, revealing his departure via video from Paris. The anti-war candidate had planned to challenge Putin in Russia's twenty twenty-four presidential election but was denied registration by the Central Election Commission. When he pivoted toward this year's parliamentary elections, the Justice Ministry designated him a foreign agent, and prosecutors accused him of displaying extremist symbols. Both statuses barred him from the ballot. Now based in Western Europe, Nadezhdin says he's alive and free, and he's promised to detail his plans in the coming weeks.
