Oil prices plunge and Europe’s markets rally after Trump calls off Iran strikes

Per The Guardian, oil prices dropped sharply after Donald Trump cancelled planned military strikes against Iran and claimed that peace talks on a Middle East deal would resume. Brent crude fell five percent to eighty-three dollars and forty-seven cents a barrel, dipping as low as eighty-one dollars and fifty-five cents. West Texas Intermediate fell more than five percent to seventy-nine dollars and forty-seven cents. The moves lifted stocks and government bonds higher.
