Russia adds its youngest person yet to registry of ‘terrorists and extremists.’ He just turned 14.

Meduza reports that Russia added a fourteen-year-old to its official registry of terrorists and extremists on July thirtieth — believed to be Viktor Kalinin, detained the previous month for setting fire to a railway relay cabinet. At fourteen years old, he's the youngest person ever designated this way in Russia. According to the human rights group Department One, minors represent the fastest-growing category in this registry: since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the share of teenagers among new entries has increased more than eightfold, with one in every twelve people now being a minor.
