Students once played a sport with a ball taller than they were

sports

Pushball, according to Boing Boing, was invented in the eighteen-nineties by Massachusetts native Moses G. Crane. Crane created the sport because he couldn't follow American football—a small brown ball on a mostly brown field was hard to track. His solution was a ball six feet three inches across. The sport was played by students.
