Kay Granger, first Texas Republican woman elected to House, dies aged 83

Kay Granger, the first Republican woman elected to Congress from Texas, has died at the age of eighty-three. Her son, JD Granger, said the cause was Alzheimer's disease. She served in the US House for nearly three decades before not seeking re-election in 2024.
