Cyclospora outbreak causes first two deaths
health
Two people in Michigan have died in connection with a multistate cyclosporiasis outbreak, Axios reports — the first known deaths tied to the foodborne illness. Michigan health officials said Monday that both individuals had significant underlying health conditions that may have been impacted by the illness and dehydration. Weeks into the outbreak, which has sickened thousands across the country, federal authorities still don't know for certain where it's coming from or why, according to Axios. Health experts generally don't consider cyclosporiasis life-threatening, per Axios.
