TinyNES – A Niche NES Console

Adafruit Blog reviews the TinyNES, an open-source Nintendo Entertainment System clone. What distinguishes it from other NES recreations is a hybrid design: it uses the original NES CPU and graphics processor chips paired with modern supporting components for cleaner video and audio. The current limitation is connectivity—it outputs composite video only, with no RGB or HDMI option. Since the design is open source, though, enthusiasts could theoretically modify it to add those features.
