An AI-supervised remote exam went so badly that 58,000 students must retake it

Nearly one hundred sixty thousand applicants took UNAM's entrance exam—Mexico's largest university—entirely remotely for the first time, using AI-powered webcam proctoring. But the results proved anomalous: sixteen point three percent of test takers scored one hundred or higher, compared to three point five percent in prior years. Ars Technica reports the spike prompted officials to order fifty-eight thousand students to retake the exam.
