Japan’s prime minister tours quake-hit sites as recovery efforts hampered by soaring temperatures

A magnitude seven point one earthquake struck Japan's Kumamoto prefecture, killing thirty-eight people, including one person who died of apparent heatstroke while sheltering in a car. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi toured the affected sites nearly a week later, as officials say soaring temperatures and water shortages are hampering recovery efforts, The Guardian reports.
