Immigrant being held at Delaney Hall dies, marking 22nd death in ICE custody

An immigrant held at the Delaney Hall detention facility in New Jersey has died, the Department of Homeland Security announced Monday. Edwin Lopez-Cornejo, forty-one, was arrested by ICE in Plainfield, New Jersey, in June and died August first after what the agency called a medical emergency; he is the twenty-second person to die in ICE custody this year, according to agency data.
