Massachusetts is moving to embrace backyard homes as a housing and climate solution. Canary Media reports the state is backing small residential structures on existing properties. One example: Marsha Gleason and her husband, after forty years in their two-thousand-square-foot home in Northborough, sold it and turned to their own backyard for a downsizing option.
