Former rugby league player Luke Bateman alleged to a parliamentary inquiry into gambling reform that betting company promoters supplied him with cocaine and alcohol, and that he attended private Gold Coast events where senior gambling firm executives used illegal drugs with clients. Per The Guardian, Federal Environment Minister Murray Watt responded on Tuesday, saying anyone offering illegal drugs as inducement is criminal conduct and those responsible should face consequences.
