tech
According to SpaceNews, Weather Stream, a Boulder-based commercial weather satellite operator, has released first-light imagery from its GEMS two-Amethyst satellite. Launched in late March aboard a SpaceX rideshare mission, the spacecraft is now collecting global atmospheric observations using a microwave radiometer — a specialized sensor that penetrates clouds to measure atmospheric moisture and temperature. This first-light milestone marks the beginning of Weather Stream's operational weather monitoring capabilities.
