A historic synagogue in Tehran, the Rafi-Nia synagogue, was reduced to rubble in an Israeli air strike on April seventh. France 24 reports that the site had long served one of the Middle East's largest Jewish communities outside Israel, and was, according to a worshipper and an expert familiar with its congregation, far more than just a place of worship.
