Suspected heatstroke kills three lions at Japan zoo, spokesperson says

Three lionesses have died of suspected heatstroke at Tama Zoological Park in Japan, according to Euronews. A zoo spokesperson said ten of the park's sixteen lions have shown symptoms like loss of appetite and reduced activity since mid-July. The losses come amid a punishing summer heat wave that's been straining animals and infrastructure across the country.
