Russia opens administrative case against anti-war politician Boris Nadezhdin over a Meduza interview

politics

Russian authorities have brought an administrative case against anti-war politician Boris Nadezhdin over an interview he gave to Meduza — an outlet Russia designates as an 'undesirable organization.' Per Meduza, the charge carries a fine of up to fifteen thousand rubles. This follows other recent actions against Nadezhdin: the Justice Ministry designated him a 'foreign agent,' he was detained and cited for displaying 'extremist symbols,' and fined an additional thousand rubles. Those measures made him ineligible for the State Duma elections. Nadezhdin announced on August third, from Paris, that he had left Russia.
