Romania, Hungary, France... Europe's nuclear power plants tested by heatwave

A severe heatwave is testing Europe's power supply as record-low water levels in major rivers, including the Danube, threaten to force nuclear plants to shut down. France 24 is reporting that the water shortage has already cut electricity output and squeezed company earnings across Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in Romania, Hungary, and France. Governments in the region are implementing emergency conservation measures to prevent a full energy crisis as concerns mount over the economic fallout from extreme heat and irregular rainfall patterns.
