Washington state Democrat who flipped pro-Trump district faces tough primary

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, a moderate Democrat and auto shop owner, made headlines flipping a Republican seat in twenty twenty-two. Now, The Guardian reports, she's fighting to hold it in one of the country's most closely watched primaries on Tuesday. She faces progressive Democrat Brent Hennrich, Republican state senator John Braun, and six other candidates for her Washington state congressional seat. Under the state's top-two primary system, the two highest vote-getters advance to the general election in November, regardless of party.
