Medi-Cal is changing. Here’s what to do if you’re worried about coverage
health
California is tightening Medi-Cal rules, with undocumented immigrants most severely affected, CalMatters reports. Starting in January, immigrants without legal status over nineteen can no longer apply for coverage, though existing beneficiaries can retain benefits if they complete their renewals on time. Working-age adults across multiple groups must prove at least eighty hours monthly of work or volunteering to keep their coverage. Asset limits for seniors and disabled individuals begin in twenty twenty-seven. Experts urge affected Californians to update their contact information with their county benefits office and monitor mail and official portals closely for notice of coverage changes.
