Peter Gill, playwright who turned ordinary lives into extraordinary drama, dies aged 86

Playwright and director Peter Gill has died at the age of 86, The Guardian reports. Gill began his career as an actor at London's Royal Court in 1958 before going on to write and direct plays including The York Realist. His agent Mel Kenyon described his work as having a rare emotional delicacy, beautifully observed and finely tuned.
