Streaming Residuals Drop for First Time as Secondary Market Sputters, Per WGA Report

Streaming residuals for writers dropped in twenty twenty-five for the first time on record, Variety reports. Writers earned three hundred thirty point seven million dollars in streaming residuals last year, according to the Writers Guild of America, down from three hundred forty-six point six million in twenty twenty-four. The decline comes as the once-robust secondary market for old movies and television shows contracts.
