Ames Science Stars of the Month – August 2026

NASA Ames Research Center has recognized three standout researchers for August. Danielle Lopez, Deputy Project Manager of the Open Science Data Repository, earned recognition for orchestrating collaboration on open science initiatives across NASA and the public. Jennifer Claudio, supporting the GeneLab for High School summer program, was honored for her resourcefulness, including her quick response to a security breach of the learning platform. And astrophysicist Duncan Mifsud received recognition for his infrared analysis work on samples returned from asteroid Bennu by NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission, as well as laboratory samples produced through ultraviolet irradiation. Per NASA News, the three represent the technical expertise and collaborative spirit the agency needs to explore beyond Earth.
