Boosting ESP32-C3 SuperMini WiFi: a simple and effective antenna mod

dev_tools

The ESP32-C3 SuperMini is a budget microcontroller board at around two euros—powerful but hamstrung by its tiny built-in antenna, which severely limits WiFi range. Adafruit reports that maker Peter Neufeld engineered a simple fix: attach a thirty-one millimeter length of silver-plated wire configured as a quarter-wavelength antenna. The wire features a small horizontal loop connecting to the board's existing antenna terminals, with the rest angled vertically. The original post's power output measurements show the modification delivers substantial improvements in wireless range.
