Hundreds of tiny birds killed from flying into shopfront windows, wires

More than seventeen hundred tree martins have been killed or injured in Adelaide's Rundle Mall, according to a new report, mostly from collisions with shopfront windows and overhead wires. ABC News (Australia) reports the toll was recorded across the CBD shopping strip on Tuesday. Bird strikes on reflective glass are a well-documented hazard for urban wildlife worldwide.
