The startup selling proof that a human wrote your manuscript

Boing Boing is reporting on Vellumproof, a new service that cryptographically proves a human wrote your manuscript. The startup timestamps each draft and links them together in a chain of cryptographic hashes. If you try to insert a draft out of sequence or alter its date, the chain breaks, revealing the tampering. The creator, unpublished author Dylan Reed, developed the service to provide writers with verifiable proof of their authorship.
