Magnuson-Stevens Act Provisions; General Provisions for Domestic Fisheries; Application for Exempted Fishing Permits

A notice published in the Federal Register announces that Atlantic Capes Fisheries, Inc. has applied for an Exempted Fishing Permit, a waiver that would allow its federally permitted vessels to fish outside normal fishery regulations. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has determined the application is complete and is now opening it for public comment. Under the Magnuson-Stevens Act, which oversees domestic fisheries management, interested parties have the chance to weigh in before NOAA makes its final decision.
