Fuego volcano eruption forces mass evacuations in Guatemala

Guatemala's government has raised its volcanic alert to red after the Fuego volcano erupted on Monday, sending lava fountains and pyroclastic flows down its slopes. Euronews reports that 659 people were evacuated from eight villages as a result. Fuego is one of Central America's most active volcanoes, with a name that translates simply to "fire."
