Vulnerabilities in Car Anti-Theft Device

Per Schneier on Security, researchers at UC San Diego have discovered critical vulnerabilities in the KARR Security System, an aftermarket car alarm installed in more than two million vehicles across the U.S. The flaws allow any hacker within Bluetooth range to send radio commands that silently unlock the car, disable its alarm, honk the horn, flash the lights, or even shut down the ignition and strand a driver.
