Sitting up straight might do more than help your back. Researchers found that participants who sat upright reported stronger feelings of pride and made better decisions in a virtual risk-taking test, compared to those who slouched. Most participants didn't realize their posture had been altered, which rules out the possibility they were simply responding to expectations. The finding suggests workplace ergonomics could influence how we think and feel, not just physical comfort.
