NBC News: Abdul El-Sayed wins Michigan Democratic primary

Progressive candidate Abdul El-Sayed has won Michigan's Democratic primary, defeating Congresswoman Haley Stevens, NBC projects. The upset is striking for its spending mismatch: Stevens, backed by the party establishment, outspent El-Sayed by eleven to one, yet El-Sayed overcame nearly sixty-five million dollars in outside money opposing his campaign. He'll face Republican Mike Rogers in the fall.
