CDC reportedly expands scope of US cyclosporiasis outbreak to 15 states, including Arkansas and Missouri

The CDC has reportedly expanded the largest known cyclosporiasis outbreak in the U.S., according to The Guardian, adding six more states — including Arkansas and Missouri — to bring the total under investigation to fifteen. The expansion follows Michigan's report of the first two U.S. deaths linked to the parasitic illness, which typically causes prolonged diarrhea. Arkansas's health department confirmed to the Guardian that the state is among those newly added to the CDC's multi-state investigation.
