NASA’s Perseverance Rover Watches Earth Vanish Behind Martian Moon

Perseverance captured a historic first, per NASA News: Earth disappearing behind one of Mars's moons, as observed from another world's surface. On July second, the rover recorded our world as a bright dot vanishing behind Phobos, Mars's larger moon. From one hundred ninety-five million miles away, Earth appeared as little more than a pinprick of light.
