Zantigo in St Paul, Minnesota
business
Zantigo, a Minneapolis fast-food chain launched seven years after Taco Bell, expanded to eighty-two restaurants before a nineteen eighty-six merger shuttered it and converted the remaining locations to Taco Bell. A decade later, a former Zantigo manager and his brother resurrected the brand in the Twin Cities. One location stands in a building that completed the circle: it started as Zantigo, became Taco Bell, and is now Zantigo again. The chain's signature chilito and taco burrito, per Atlas Obscura, have endured through the transformations.
