Secret funeral reportedly held in Moscow for unnamed major general. He may have died in an assassination attempt on Russian Aerospace Forces chief Alexander Chayko.

A secret funeral was held at Moscow's Troekurovskoye Cemetery for an unnamed major general, according to the anonymous Telegram channel VChK-OGPU. The channel's authors said he may have died in the August first bombing at the Balzi Rossi restaurant and could have been a friend of Aerospace Forces chief Alexander Chayko, though they said they couldn't confirm he was actually there. Federal Protective Service and National Guard officers screened every vehicle and visitor at the cemetery, and eyewitnesses described the man buried as fairly young, with a Ground Forces background. That blast killed five people and injured nineteen others, and Chayko's son-in-law has separately been reported among the dead.
