"Exact punishment" in April, "not my business" in August: MAGA Mike Johnson's ethics policy
politics
House Speaker Mike Johnson is facing scrutiny over an apparent shift in tone, Boing Boing reports. Back in April, Johnson vowed 'exact punishment' for congressional predators, after Eric Swalwell and Tony Gonzales both resigned from Congress, with Gonzales having admitted to an affair with a staffer. Now, with Ohio congressman Max Miller facing domestic-abuse allegations, Johnson has instead said he'll let the process play out. Boing Boing notes the two situations aren't an exact match, but the shift in Johnson's rhetoric is drawing notice.
