NASA’s Perseverance Captures Phobos and Earth
science
On Wednesday, NASA News released striking images from the Perseverance rover showing Earth passing behind Phobos, Mars's small moon, captured on July second. In the composite sequence of seven photographs recorded by the rover's Mastcam-Z camera, our home planet appears as just a small bright dot, moving across the Martian sky about forty minutes after sunset. From the Martian surface, the photograph captures a rare perspective: Earth as just a small, bright point of light in the sky.
