Watch: 'Scariest night' as Ukraine fails to intercept Russian attack

It was, in Anastasiia's words, the scariest night, as a Russian missile struck her home in Kyiv after the city's air defences failed to intercept it. BBC World reports that depleted defences allowed many of the missiles fired to get through. Ukraine's air defences have grown increasingly stretched as the war with Russia continues into its third year.
