The Conversation proposes Britain establish community wildfire partnerships in vulnerable zones, coordinate education through schools and youth programs, engage faith organizations and garden centers to build awareness, and train local volunteers in prevention and detection. The argument: communities, who know their local landscapes best, are often first to spot fires and can prevent small incidents from becoming disasters. While Britain may need more specialist firefighters, a prepared society is ultimately the most cost-effective defense against increasingly frequent wildfires.
