Diageo to nearly double Guinness production and cut jobs in turnaround plan

Per The Guardian, Diageo's new chief executive Dave Lewis—known as 'Drastic Dave' from his time at Tesco—unveiled a turnaround plan on Thursday to nearly double Guinness production while cutting a significant portion of its thirty-thousand-person workforce. The former Tesco boss, brought in last November, managed to lift investor spirits with the strategic overhaul, sending Diageo shares higher on the announcement.
