When its owner jumped in to rescue it, they too got stuck—until strangers on the bank formed a human chain, risking themselves to pull both to safety. Per Atlas Obscura, the rescue is now marked by an interactive sculpture that lets visitors grip the last bronze hand in line, turning a moment of human kindness into something permanent.
