Organ donation group accused of trying to take living man's organs faces shutdown

The Department of Health and Human Services is moving to shut down Network for Hope, a Kentucky-based organ procurement organization at the center of a 2021 case in which it was accused of trying to harvest organs from a man who was still alive. Ars Technica reports that decertification would effectively close the organization, which handles donations across Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and West Virginia, with another group appointed to take over the region. Network for Hope says it disagrees with the finding and plans to appeal.
