Antwerp's 'human zoo': Belgium confronts shame of colonial past

In eighteen ninety-four, during a World's Fair in Antwerp, Belgium, one hundred forty-four Congolese people were forcibly brought to the city and put on display in what was called the Congo Pavilion. Seven of the men died of disease during the exhibition. France 24 reports the episode remains one of the darkest chapters of Belgium's colonial history, one the country is still confronting today.
