No Summer Doldrums For Active Startup Investors In July
business
July brought no summer slowdown in venture capital, per Crunchbase News. Khosla Ventures led active lead investors, with eight investments including a three-hundred-million-dollar Series A for quantum-computing startup Oratomic and a one-hundred-twenty-million-dollar Series C for legal tech provider Norm AI. When counting all deals, not just lead stakes, Y Combinator was most prolific, participating in at least nineteen rounds of five million dollars or more. For highest spending, Coatue backed the month's largest financing: ten billion dollars into Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos's private space company. Nvidia also committed five billion dollars to Safe Superintelligence, a foundational AI startup. Throughout July's deal activity, one trend was unmistakable—AI dominated the funding landscape.
