Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries introduces drone-attack insurance

Starting today, sellers on Wildberries — Russia's largest online marketplace — can insure their goods against drone strikes, sabotage, and terrorist attacks during delivery, pickup storage, and returns, Meduza reports. Payouts top out at fifty thousand rubles per item and one hundred thousand rubles per event, and the company has raised its insurance rates, now running between one point nine six and five point six percent of an item's value depending on category. The move follows near-daily Ukrainian strikes on Wildberries warehouses since mid-June, some of which have burned down entirely, with sellers who've already been paid out saying the sums fall far short of their losses. The independent outlet The Bell estimates Wildberries' own direct losses from the attacks could top one hundred billion rubles.
