Venezuela suffers effects of Trump’s aid, foreign policies after deadly quakes

Following deadly earthquakes in Venezuela, the Trump administration's closure of USAID, the United States development agency, is complicating humanitarian relief efforts. According to Christopher Sabatini, Latin America Programme Director at Chatham House, the multi-agency coordination now required is less efficient than using the existing USAID infrastructure. Sabatini notes that an agency already equipped for such work could have managed relief coordination much more effectively.
