Meta fined in child safety case

A US state court has hit Meta with a five hundred sixty-seven million dollar penalty and ordered restrictions on some Facebook and Instagram features for children. France 24 reports the court found Meta created a "public nuisance" that endangered young users, calling it the largest child-safety ruling against the company to date. Dozens of other US states are pursuing similar lawsuits accusing Meta of harming children's mental health.
