US Senate passes Russia sanctions bill championed by Lindsey Graham

The US Senate approved a Russia sanctions bill on Friday with overwhelming bipartisan support — eighty-six votes in favor, eleven opposed. The legislation, renamed the Lindsey O Graham Sanctioning Russia Act in honor of the late senator who championed it, aims to punish Russia and countries importing its petroleum exports in response to the invasion of Ukraine. Per The Guardian, the bill will now move to the House for consideration.
