French officers halted small boats at sea 10 times since spring

French maritime prefect officers have been boarding and turning back small boats far more often than political critics have acknowledged. The Guardian reports that since spring, authorities have intervened on ten occasions in the Channel, contradicting claims from Conservative and Reform politicians that French police refuse to get involved in small boat crossings.
