Diamond Creek in Peach Springs, Arizona

Diamond Creek, in Arizona's Hualapai Reservation, is a unique geographic access point: it's the only place in the entire two-hundred-seventy-eight-mile Grand Canyon where you can drive to the Colorado River. Per Atlas Obscura, the creek follows a traditional Hualapai route that welcomed its first automobile back in nineteen fourteen. Today, both commercial river outfitters and the Hualapai Nation use Diamond Creek as a launch and take-out point for Colorado River trips, making it the Canyon's sole drivable gateway to the water.
