S.S. Rajamouli Says ‘Varanasi’ Imax Action Done, Interconnecting Scenes Remain and ‘Baahubali’ Belongs in Animation (EXCLUSIVE)

Indian filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli tells Variety his upcoming IMAX epic 'Varanasi,' releasing in April twenty twenty-seven, has wrapped its large-scale action sequences. Spanning thousands of years and remote locations including Antarctica, the film still needs interconnecting scenes filmed. In the same interview, Rajamouli suggests his previous blockbuster 'Baahubali' would be better suited as an animated adaptation.
